Position Summary

The Outdoor Technical Representative executes sales and marketing initiatives through key retailers and outdoor partners to drive market share and brand leadership. This role involves educating retail staff and consumers, supporting product launches, gathering market insights, and representing the brand at events. The ideal candidate is a passionate outdoor enthusiast with strong communication and organizational skills.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Retail & Consumer Engagement

* Support retail partners through visits, demos, working the sales floor, and collaborating on local events.

* Educate and motivate retail associates and relevant affiliates about adidas Terrex/Five Ten technology and products through clinics, visits, and events.

* Deliver clear and persuasive product presentations to educate and motivate retail staff and customers.

* Engage with the community and retail partners to generate excitement and brand awareness around adidas Terrex and Five Ten.

* Represent adidas Terrex/Five Ten at local and select national events, races, and expos.


Sales & Merchandising Support

* Lead and manage field support efforts for adidas Terrex/Five Ten at both Specialty and Outdoor Big Box accounts within the territory.

* Manage partner inventory and work with Sales Rep to secure at-once orders.

* Manage retail partner's back room, securing premium placement for key product.

* Implement merchandising or promotional activities with the product.

* Assist Sales and Marketing teams with product launches, in-store merchandising, and grassroots programs.

* Collaborate with Sales Management and Marketing on National Account sell-through programs and in-store promotions.


Reporting & Brand Advocacy

* Maintain weekly field notes and submit reports on visits, clinics, and events, providing relevant product and competitor feedback.

* Feature in product videos for educational platforms and social media as needed.

* Utilize and manage a yearly product seeding budget.

*Track, maintain and stay within yearly travel budget. Submit timely expense reports.



Key Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education/Training, or related field.

* 1-2 years of relevant project/event management experience or equivalent industry experience.

* Strong knowledge of the local outdoor competitive landscape and structure.

* Proactive self-starter and creative thinker.

* Strong organizational and communication skills.

* Collaborative and adaptable in fast-paced environments.

* Ability to work weekends and travel up to 75%.

* Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

* Effective time management and multitasking.

* Able to lift and carry samples and bags weighing up to 50 lbs.

* Passion for outdoor sports and gear.



Working Conditions

Remote work with frequent travel to retail locations, events, and team meetings. Frequent evening and weekend work required.

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $62,000-70,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
  • This is a fully remote position based in Los Angeles, CA.
