SmithGroup is looking for a Sr. Experiential Graphic Designer to join our team. The individual selected can work remotely oustide of the state of Arizona.



Working with us you will:



  • Partner with the Director to define scopes of work and take primary responsibility for managing project budgets, allocating staffing hours, and overseeing schedules to ensure successful project delivery across the discipline.
  • Collaborate with the Director on project pursuits and marketing initiatives, contributing your expertise to ensure alignment of goals, resource planning, and successful execution.
  • Champion Branded Experience services within the firm and actively represent the group in professional organizations to position it as an industry leader.
  • Lead the design, development, and fabrication of environmental graphics and signage projects.
  • Lead design ideation and strategies through experience mapping, creating user journeys/personas, visioning facilitation, and client workshops.
  • Oversee and approve detailed location plans, message schedules, elevations, and comprehensive drawing packages to ensure rigorous quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for construction administration, leading coordination with fabricators, managing RFIs, and upholding the highest standards of installation quality.
  • Create and maintain new relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior staff on projects.


An ideal candidate has:



  • 10-15 years of experience in experiential graphic design, signage, and wayfinding.
  • Proven expertise in preparing detailed drawing packages for EGD and signage projects, including location plans, message schedules, elevations, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee budgets, allocate staffing, manage schedules, and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills in both verbal and visual formats.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, and represent the firm in professional organizations.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CADTools, Sketchup/Rhino/other 3D modeling software, and Enscape.
  • Working knowledge of Revit for coordination of locations, elevations, and views.
  • Knowledge of material specifications, sustainable materials a plus.

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $104,000 to $123,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
