Position Title:Sleep Lab Coordinator - OU Children's Hospital Department:Sleep Lab Job Description:

General Description:

Under general supervision, assists in planning, directing and coordinating activities for the Sleep Lab programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs and supervises sleep and breathing studies on pediatric and adult patients.

  • Provides services, timely and efficiently, at appropriate levels to all patients and in all settings served by the department.

  • Coordinates methodological and systematic gathering and retrieval of patient data.

  • Performs application of electrodes for sleep parameters.

  • Obtains results of studies for physicians.

  • Supervises laboratory staff, and provides educational literature and information to medical students, physicians, nursing staff, and others.

  • Coordinates services in adult and pediatric/infant sleep lab.

  • Maintains sleep laboratory equipment.

  • Assigns duties to the professional and support staff based on patient care needs.

  • Provides advanced clinical expertise and education to departmental staff members.

  • Supervises and evaluates work performance in terms of patient clinical records, patient outcomes, customer relations and efficiency/effectiveness of service.

  • Maintains inventory standards of supplies and equipment.

  • Directs patient care as needed.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must demonstrate analytical skills needed to prepare budget.

  • Ability to work with others as a team and to ensure quality patient care.

  • Good computer skills.
