Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with primary seafood processing operations and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Trident's global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries and its sales teams serve customers in over 50 countries. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Summary:Trident Seafoods is looking for an experienced Global Logistics Analyst to drive transportation and logistics analytics through reporting and trend analysis. As a member of the Global Logistics team, the Global Logistics Analyst maintains the Transportation Management System (TMS) application to effectively deliver maximum value. The ideal candidate will demonstrate they can design processes, scope business needs, recommend solutions, and deploy the decision.

The Global Logistics Analyst is responsible for managing Transportation Management business processes (i.e., Procurement, Freight Bill Audit & Payment, Shipment Planning & Execution) to ensure that Trident's solutions meet customer requirements. This role will manage repeatable analysis and tasks driving continuous cost and service improvement by recommending and implementing stated improvements. This position will require interfacing with both customers and carriers.

In addition, this position will provide operational support and business process execution to assist in coordinating communication between the business and key stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of products to key customers. The Global Logistics Analyst will interact closely with a cross-functional group of professionals including Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain in addition to key third-party partners in transportation, warehousing, and contract manufacturing. This position will provide support to Trident's Alaska, domestic, and international business units.

Business Analysis & Solution Deployment

  • Gather business requirements to develop process or technology solutions.
  • Apply change and project management to implement solutions on schedule.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Build and maintain dashboards using BI tools (QlikView, Tableau, Info Assist, Power BI).
  • Generate weekly customer metrics and performance reports.
  • Provide analysis to support recommendations (rate impact, root cause, performance).

TMS Operations & Data Integrity

  • Maintain expertise in TMS and related services.
  • Ensure TMS outputs meet design and customer requirements.
  • Scrub and manage master data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Customer & Internal Support

  • Support data processing, reporting, and customer inquiries.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to resolve logistics issues and support implementations.
  • Partner with internal teams to manage Customer Ship-to Lists/Profiles.

Transportation & Logistics Optimization

  • Coordinate transportation and manage freight data for assigned lanes.
  • Analyze freight and vendor data to improve inbound logistics performance.
  • Recommend optimized routes and lane options based on data.
  • Identify improvement areas in shipping and service offerings.

Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Support budgeting and contract negotiations with carriers.
  • Use financial and logistics systems to model supply chain efficiencies.
  • Monitor KPIs (On-time delivery, Mode Compliance, Load Optimization).
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement SOPs for continuous improvement.

This is a an exempt position with an annualized salaryrange of $100,000 to $125,000.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • 5+ years of Transportation/Logistics experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or related discipline.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to achieve results in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Proven problem-solving ability; comfortable analyzing large data sets and presenting recommendations.
  • Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated willingness to learn new systems.
  • Global end-to-end supply chain and logistics process knowledge.
  • Continuous Improvement/Lean Supply Chain mindset.

Preferred education and experience

  • 1 or more years of analytical experience.
  • Advanced degree or certification in supply chain / operations a plus.
  • Meaningful market knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry.
  • Experience with logistics and/or transportation management software (BluJay, JDA, SAP, Oracle, or similar.)
  • Experience with a global food manufacturing company is a plus.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
