As Vice President of Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a global communications strategy that supports the organization through a period of significant transformation. This role requires a visionary leader who can architect a cohesive and agile strategic communications framework that effectively engages both internal stakeholders and external partners across diverse geographies. Your proven ability to lead high-performing teams, navigate complex communications challenges, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions, and your deep understanding of the life sciences industry and the regulatory landscape will be instrumental in driving clarity, innovation, and trust. Through your leadership, the communications function will not only support change but also elevate our brand, reinforce our values, and strengthen our global reputation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Global Team Building: Build and lead a best-in-class global communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth

  • Communications Strategy: Develop and complete an essential, comprehensive communications roadmap that aligns with our long-term value creation objectives, positioning us as we work to become a global leader in vital organ therapy

  • Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communication strategies that foster employee engagement, alignment, and understanding during times of transformation; collaborate with HR on change management initiatives

  • Executive Communications: Create strong CEO voice and compelling internal/external communications to optimally position CEO and the leadership team

  • External Communications: Build, lead and implement strategies that promote and protect the Vantive brand and reputation, including media relations; serve as company spokesperson on a range of topics and issues

  • M&A Communication: Apply your experience in managing communications during M&A to guide the essential communication efforts

  • Crisis Communication: Develop crisis communication protocols and strategies to proactively address potential reputational risks and effectively manage crises, if they arise

  • Digital and Social Media: Oversee Vantive's digital channels using a data-centric approach; integrate emerging technologies and innovative communication approaches to enhance our communication effectiveness and engagement

  • Life Sciences Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of the life sciences industry to shape narratives that resonate with our partners and position us as an inspiring, leading organization

  • Shareholder/Board Communications: Direct experience communicating with boards and various shareholder groups, understanding how to modify/mold messaging on key topics into the right language and format

  • Public Company Expertise: Support communications strategy and tactics in a highly regulated industry with deep knowledge of the obligations of a publicly traded company

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience as a senior leader in communications, preferably within the life sciences industry for a publicly traded company, with global exposure

  • Demonstrated success in developing and driving essential communications plans that align with business objectives and resonate with diverse partners

  • Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience leading communications during significant organizational transformations

  • Strong team leadership skills, with a track record of building and nurturing hard-working communications teams

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build trusted relationships across the organization to effectively engage, advise, and earn the respect of senior leaders, including the CEO and members of the executive leadership team.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and engage diverse audiences

  • Strong financial acumen, with a deep understanding of core business drivers and key corporate financial metrics, enabling effective alignment of communications strategies with organizational performance and growth objectives.

  • Understanding of AI and how to utilize as part of any strategy and/or operations

  • Strong understanding of digital communication platforms, social media, and emerging communication trends

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $300,000 - $382,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
