Description

BlueHalo/AV is looking for a highly talented Radio Frequency (RF) Sensors Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Senior Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground Based Midcourse Defense (MDA/GM) Program Office Sensors Analysis Team. This role supports analysis and root cause resolution of ground, flight, and real-world sensor data. The candidate will provide senior-level systems engineering support performing analysis to include root cause studies, simulation configuration and execution, and reporting of results in support of MDA RF sensor evaluation in a secure environment.



  • Develop system, component, and root cause analyses and assessments related to Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Ground and Flight testing
  • Analyze Digital and Signal Injector radar M&S, Open Systems Architecture Sensor Models (OSM), Open System Architecture Sensor Injector (OSI), and various sensor simulations
  • Develop MATLAB tools that support root cause analysis and analysis tools and algorithms to view and compare sensor data
  • Develop and review technical memoranda, white papers, and briefings that support the findings and conclusions of analyses
  • Conduct root cause analysis
  • Interact with M&S team to support M&S development priorities and understanding of issues
  • Prepare and present briefings


Required:



  • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field
  • 12+ years of relevant technical experience for missile defense related programs
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Proficient in MATLAB programming to support in-depth analysis within the Linux operating system environment
  • Strong analytical and data assessment skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently to complete tasks
  • Strong understanding of MDA systems engineering processes and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience with MDA system elements (e.g., Patriot, THAAD, Aegis, C2BMC)
  • Ability to operate independently and communicate effectively across diverse technical teams


Desired:



  • Knowledge and experience in missile defense systems
  • Knowledge and experience in MDA/SN Radar operational systems, sensor system interactions, associated data outputs and formats, sensor system analysis, and sensor simulation data analysis to include sensors: Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR), Upgraded Early Warning Radars (UEWR) Cobra Dane, Army Navy/Transportable Radar Surveillance (AN/TPY 2), and Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX)
  • Knowledge and experience in software and algorithm development
