JOB OVERVIEW:

The Sanitation Technician Lead engages in sanitation activities ensuring the cleanliness and safety of production and office areas in addition to driving department processes and strategic initiatives that are developed by organizational leadership and regulatory compliance. Supporting facility quality assurance initiatives and adhering to Blue Diamond's HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices will be essential to this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows established schedules and standard operating procedures for cleaning and/or sanitizing of assigned areas.
  • Engages in the ordering of cleaning supplies and sanitation inventory items (e.g. paper towels, soap, hand sanitizer, and uvex lens tissue wipes).
  • Participates in quality inspections on the production lines ensuring compliance with corporate and agency regulations.
  • Leads "Train the Trainer" classes and new hire orientations relating to sanitation processes and procedures.
  • Participates in FSA audits.
  • Functions as a member of the plant's Safety Team.
  • Helps develop and execute the plant's Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Leads the containment and sanitation of blood borne pathogens (BBP) at the facility.
  • Represents the Sanitation team in cross- functional/ cross- organizational training opportunities for plant team members.
  • Engages in quality assurance swabbing of production equipment to maintain food safety requirements.
  • Assists with leading the team through their daily tasks to ensure safety & quality standards are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED

*Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic custodial / sanitation experience of 4 years
  • Excellent communication skills & ability to work in team-environment
  • Required to obtain a forklift certification
  • Required to obtain a Bloodborne Pathogen certification
  • Experience training team members on sanitation principles
  • Experience operating industrial cleaning machines

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.
