About the Role

We're seeking an Electrical Engineer with a passion for power systems and hands-on switchgear technology to join our training and product support team. In this role, you'll combine your technical expertise with strong communication skills to help build, deliver, and enhance training programs for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and related high-voltage equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer from the utility, transmission/distribution, or OEM world who wants to grow into a subject matter expert and mentor others on next-generation gas-insulated equipment.

What You'll Do

  • Support the design, development, and delivery of training programs for gas-insulated (SF ) switchgear systems.

  • Learn and become the subject matter expert on the design, operation, startup, and maintenance of gas-insulated switchgear products.

  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operations teams to ensure training reflects real-world field applications and safety standards.

  • Assist with technical troubleshooting and help implement corrective actions to continuously improve equipment performance and training content.

  • Stay current on industry standards, innovations, and best practices in switchgear and power distribution.

  • Provide additional support for related topics such as LOTO, vacuum/air switchgear, and breaker systems as training programs expand.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience in the power industry - utilities, transmission & distribution, or electrical equipment manufacturing preferred.

  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, or substation equipment.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable presenting technical material to both engineers and field technicians.

  • Proficient with engineering and presentation tools (e.g., CAD, PowerPoint, Excel, or similar).

  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with Gas-Insulated (SF ) or Air-Insulated Switchgear.

  • Exposure to GCB, vacuum breaker, or protection & control systems.

  • Experience with project execution, commissioning, or maintenance in a power systems environment.

  • Understanding of electrical safety practices and industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NETA, NFPA, OSHA).

  • Prior experience developing or delivering technical training is a plus (not required).

Why This Role

  • Unique opportunity to grow into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for advanced switchgear systems.

  • Work alongside senior engineers and learn the latest GIS and high-voltage technologies.

  • Make a tangible impact by helping to train the next generation of power engineers and technicians.

  • Competitive compensation, professional growth opportunities, and exposure to cutting-edge electrical systems.
