From your PASSION to ours LACTALIS USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring an Export Intern based in New York City. This position reports to the Export Customer Service Supervisor and performs a variety of duties in support of the Export Customer Service Team. The intern will work 40 hours/week for duration of the internship. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: Assist Export Customer Service Team with the processing of export orders of US-manufactured products received from external or internal customers. - Monitor order pricing as part of the invoicing process. - Issue set of appropriate export documents per order, including but not limited to AMS/APHIS, COO, CoA, Invoice, Packing List, BOL, SLIs. - Coordinate with Planning/Plant to ensure quantities/delivery dates are respected. - Work closely with cross-functional company personnel to help ensure that the company provides a superior level of customer service and resolve any problems in a timely manner. - Report issues of critical concern that may affect Customer Service to the Supervisor and/or Assistant Director. - Act as a backup to Export Customer Service team members to cover vacations, personal time, etc. - Communicate/Problem solve any issues with domestic and overseas stakeholders. - This description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Education * The candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in International Business. Recent graduates preferred. Will consider candidates with majors in Supply Chain, Marketing, Business Management, Economics, or a related field. Specialized Knowledge * Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in French or Spanish would be helpful, but not required. Skills/Abilities * Very strong computer skills, comfortable using AS400, Excel, Outlook and Word at a high proficiency level * Strong communication skills both written and oral * Ability to read, to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and/or governmental regulations. Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence. * Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers. * Needs to be familiar with sophisticated sales reporting systems. * Ability to calculate figures and analyze data. * Experience working effectively with teams outside formal lines of authority to accomplish goals.
