Buyer Analyst II - New Brighton, MN

We have an opportunity for a Buyer Analyst to join our New Brighton, MN team. You will be responsible for purchasing items to support production and business needs. You will manage activities to procure items according to the best delivery schedule while maintaining target inventory levels. You will build and maintain vendor relationships, as well as analyze and resolve issues related to procurement, accounting, and quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting program management, production, inventory control, and other site functions in all procurement-related activities.

You will:

  • Manage the entire business cycle, from purchase order placement, confirmation, invoice payment, to supplier performance, and documentation of key performance indicators.
  • Maintain continuous knowledge and an understanding of outside supplier product demands and production scheduling techniques, including identifying current and future demand requirements for assigned commodities.
  • Analyze material requirements and inventory, utilizing PFEP, maintain on-time delivery and targeted inventory levels, and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain data integrity within the purchasing area of the business system, delivery dates, lead times, safety stocks, etc.
  • Develop forward-looking strategies for assigned commodity/spend categories; analyze and evaluate procurement policies and stocking strategies via DDMRP processes.
  • Participate in product moves, PCO, and NPD (New Product Launch) projects across multiple facilities as needed, managing the changes within the supply base to include ramp-down and ramp-up efforts to minimize impacts on our customers and excess/obsolete inventories.
  • Identify and analyze root causes for procurement-related issues to implement corrective action. RCCM and/or A3 events.
  • Manage change in the organization by leading improvement projects related to supplier performance, material availability, and inventory. Facilitate and recommend actions to aid in optimal supply chain strategies.
  • Improve performance/develop stronger relationships with assigned suppliers.
  • Ensure support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and deployment of countermeasures.
  • Create new and revised existing procurement processes to achieve best practices.
  • Comply with Supply Chain and Purchasing procedures and ISO requirements.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in a business-related field or engineering required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Excellent computer proficiency.
  • Experience with SAP (S/4) preferred.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding purchasing, logistics, incoming product inspection, inventory control, PFEP (Plan for Every Part), and lean concepts.
  • Certifications such as APICS, Six Sigma, Greenbelt, etc. are a plus
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, influence leaders to adopt change, and build trust and credibility quickly.
  • A passion to drive change and challenge the status quo with positive energy.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and business intuition skills.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Working knowledge of ISO-9001.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate support of Company lean principles: teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate and lead a cross-functional team is a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of VMI and Kanban programs

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61,200 - $113,600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
