Opportunity Overview:

Benefits Specialist - Contract 6 Months

Minneapolis, MN - Hybrid Role - 3 days a week in office

Your Day-to-Day:

The Benefits Specialist will support Client's Benefits team with large-scale initiatives including a pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) transition launching in January 2026 and a medical plan strategy project. Responsibilities include supporting the team on these projects, performing data analysis, reporting, benefit census validation, and cross-training on processes such as POPR funding. You will focus on analytics, process improvement, and supporting actuaries and vendors by verifying census data and ensuring accuracy in benefit records.

The day varies based on team priorities. The specialist will attend three weekly team meetings, assist with project notes, perform data pulls and validation in Workday and Excel, and support ad hoc requests from the benefits team. They'll work with team members on reports, vendor communications, and project deliverables. Tasks are largely project-based rather than routine.

Who You Are:

* 5-7 years of experience in benefits, preferably as a Benefits Specialist, Benefits Analyst, or Benefits Administrator

* Experience supporting large employer plans (5,000+ employees); industry background not required

* Bachelor's degree preferred but not required (experience prioritized)

* Advanced Excel (pivot tables, concatenate, data organization)

* Data analysis and reporting experience

* Experience working with large employer health plans (5,000+ employees)

* Familiarity with Workday (preferred)

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $60/hour to $64/hour.
