What will you be doing?

You'll be responsible for booking, selling, planning and coordinating social and corporate events while assuring the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high. As well as be a liaison between your client and the operation teams within the hotel. Responsibilities will also include staying current on industry trends, and you seek creative ways to infiltrate markets and accounts

* Actively prospect and qualify new business.

* Negotiate Food and beverage, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines, and produce and/or review all contracts and Banquet Events Orders.

* Coordinate and help execute full details of events and activities with accuracy through detailed communication with clients and interdepartmentally.

* Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.

* Ensure that all events are meeting all contracted requirements including food & beverage minimums, attrition, cancellation etc..

* Produce monthly sales-related reports for assigned area of responsibility.

* Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.

* Completes any special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing or Director of Catering.

What do you bring to the role?

* Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Ability to complete a contract in compliance with all checklists, standards and hotel policies.

* Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

* Ability to handle multiple customer and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time-sensitive deadlines.

* Ability to operate independently and with a high degree of autonomy requiring excellent time management skills and self-motivation

* Proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through Word, Excel, Delphi FDC, Meeting Broker, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet

* Ability to maintain virtual files neatly, completely and organized in accordance with hotel guidelines to ensure proper sequencing of activity checklists are being followed.
