The Procurement Specialist provides purchasing support for production, warehouses, and direct shipments to customers by ensuring all required materials are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position is responsible for ensuring the entire purchasing process operates efficiently and effectively while meeting customer expectations.

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN

Compensation: $28-30/hour

Hybrid Schedule



Responsibilities

    Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within each project.
  • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement, follow KAI's ISO- quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, finished goods,
  • Order and maintain inventory for warehouses.
  • Place orders, generate POs from ERP system and confirm POs for finished goods, packaging, and raw materials.
  • Review MRP daily. Work with Production Planners to ensure materials arrive in time to meet production demand and production schedule.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure required documentation is received including Safety Data Sheets, Certificates of Analysis, and Certificates of Origin.
  • Source materials and packaging based on quality, cost, and availability.
  • Monitor supplier approval process and maintain performance records.


Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of purchasing, supply chain, and chemical industry.
  • Understanding of marketplace relating to goods and services purchased. General understanding of business issues and financial principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Business, or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Computer skills; knowledge of office and purchasing applications.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to articulate ideas convincingly, negotiate contracts and find solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize a wide variety of activities. Project management skills a plus; critical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others; build and maintain positive business relationships.
