At Fuss & O'Neill, We are seeking a motivated Environmental Compliance Professional to join our Hartford, CT office. This is an exciting opportunity for an environmental professional to take on a key role in supporting and helping manage compliance projects for a variety of industrial and municipal clients across Connecticut.
In this position, you will work both independently and collaboratively to develop environmental plans, prepare permit applications, and perform on-site compliance and sampling work. If you're looking for a role that combines technical expertise with hands-on fieldwork, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently prepare environmental compliance plans, including Stormwater, SPCC, and Contingency Plans
  • Develop and submit air and wastewater permit applications
  • Complete annual compliance reports (Tier II, Form R, permit-by-rule, Title V, Biennial reports)
  • Prepare air emissions calculations and wastewater reports
  • Conduct Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) and Underground Storage Tank (UST) compliance inspections
  • Support industrial wastewater and UST design projects
  • Perform onsite contract compliance work at client sites
  • Sample stormwater and wastewater discharges and prepare summary reports


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • B.S. in Environmental Science or Engineering required
  • 5+ years of relevant environmental compliance experience
  • E.I.T. certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills - ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately (60% within Connecticut)
