Apellis seeks a Senior Manager, Internal Communications to develop and execute communication programs that strengthen company culture, drive employee engagement, and connect our team. This individual will manage company-wide internal communication channels and events to ensure consistent, clear, and inspiring communication across the organization-and will also lead our annual Volunteer Day.

Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, this person will collaborate closely with colleagues across Communications, HR, and other functions to design and deliver programs that bring Apellis' culture and values to life.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead execution of Apellis' internal communications strategy to inform, engage, and inspire employees.
  • Develop and produce company-wide events such as Town Halls, ensuring compelling content and flawless execution.
  • Manage internal communications channels including the intranet, eboards, and monthly newsletters.
  • Lead the company's annual Volunteer Day, planning the Massachusetts event and overseeing activities at other sites globally to ensure strong participation and impact.
  • Partner with external agencies to create engaging multimedia content and patient videos.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure clear, consistent, and engaging communication on people-related programs and initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement new campaigns and initiatives that build on existing communications and strengthen connection across teams.
  • Manage the communications calendar and ensure coordination of company-wide messages and announcements.
  • Track and analyze metrics to continuously improve communication tactics.



Key Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. * 6+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or employee engagement, preferably in biotech or healthcare.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven experience managing events and internal campaigns from concept to completion.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with video, visual storytelling, or digital content creation a plus.

Benefits and Perks:

Base salary for this role will consider multiple factors, including but not limited to, candidate qualifications, relevant expertise, specialized skills, and industry experience in complement-targeted therapies.

The targeted base salary range for this position is $152,000.00 - $227,000.00 per year. This range represents the base salary only and reflects Apellis' commitment to competitive compensation within the biopharmaceutical industry. The final salary offered may vary based on individual qualifications, business needs, and current market conditions. per year.
