About the Role:
The person in this role must be based in the Portland, Oregon or surrounding suburbs. It requires on-site work from time to time.
Comagine Health's Research and Innovation Team is looking for a thoughtful and passionate individual to join our team as a Research Associate II. This role is a part of the Research and Evaluation Team, managing and implementing research studies and projects.
We are looking for someone with experience in the implementation of applied research methodology, knowledge of evaluation best practices, and expertise in peer-to-peer training. If you are interested in driving public health program improvement, we'd love to have you join our team!
Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, R, or equivalent.
Skills:
- Experience in managing research and/or evaluation projects with academic institutions, community stakeholders, or non-profit agencies.
- Experience with qualitative analysis and reporting required; quantitative analysis and reporting, and experience with intervention trials preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated sound judgment
- Ability to function with a high degree of independence
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Demonstrated experience and skill in word processing, basic spreadsheet, and presentation software applications; familiarity with database software programs (Microsoft Office)

Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day management of project tasks on complex projects (e.g., cluster randomized, RCT, high priority projects)
- Functions independently with limited supervision and oversight on research and evaluation projects
- Exercises judgment in taking independent action and seeks advice as necessary
- Manages body of work on projects with some oversight by project lead
- Conducts specific project management as part of team assigned to more complex projects, under the guidance of the project lead (SRA/PD) and University Principal Investigator
- Leads operational work or teams
- Manages work of project staff with minimal supervision
- Able to effectively manage project timelines with minimal supervision
- Leads clinic or patient recruitment activities independently or under the guidance of Project Director or Site PI, and provides oversight and direction to Research Assistant or Research Coordinator team members
- Develops and implements study protocols as needed
- May independently conduct or oversee data collection activities and/or analysis in area of specialization with minimal supervision or oversight (quantitative or qualitative)
- Able to lead qualitative thematic analysis including the development of a codebook, process for monitoring coder agreement or reliability, and summary of themes
- Coordinates activities and communication with project partners
- Able to work independently on various tasks and well as in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Serves as our local point-of-contact to lead investigators, health agency partners, study participants, and other stakeholders
- Tracks, documents, and reports on project progress
- Assists with problem identification and implementation of solutions
- Develops and revise data collection tools and study procedures
- Develops consent forms and IRB applications
- Leads participant recruitment and data collection efforts
- Contributes to or leads the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts or presentations
