Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents. Your visible presence and professional approach will contribute to a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to situations as needed, and deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using discretion and good judgment.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or unusual activity encountered during patrols around the location.
  • Interact professionally with staff, patients, and visitors, providing assistance and information as required.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and documentation of daily activities in accordance with company and location requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare personnel and first responders during emergency and/or crisis situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Act 235 qualification is required if applying in Pennsylvania.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
