Overview

The Supv Accessioning Lab is responsible for the supervision and oversight of SneakPeek Accessioning operation and personnel. They will be responsible reporting general accessioning operations, quality assurance (QA) issues, and operational issues.

Responsibility
  1. Conducting day-to-day supervision or oversight of Accessioning Laboratory operation and personnel.
  2. Interacting and communicating with non-laboratory staff to ensure an efficient workflow.
  3. Verifying that all Accessioning Laboratory personnel are trained and competent prior to handling patient specimens independently.
  4. Verifying that all Accessioning Laboratory personnel are evaluated for competence in assigned tasks and that remedial action is performed when staff do not perform as expected; this evaluation will be conducted semiannually during the first year of hire and annually thereafter.
  5. Assuring compliance with all applicable state and federal standards and regulations, including CLIA and OSHA.
  6. Monitoring accessioning speed and accuracy to ensure that acceptable performance is maintained.
  7. Assuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever procedures deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
  8. Maintaining of accessioning standard operating procedures.
  9. Assisting with monitoring and managing the inventory of accessioning room supplies and materials.
  10. Assisting with managing the continuous improvement process.
  11. Must monitor, document, and take appropriate action when specimens received do not comply with the laboratory's specimen submission instructions.

Shift: Tues-Sat, 8:30am-5pm PT

Qualifications
  1. A BS or BA degree in medical technology or biological sciences from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  2. Typically requires 2 years of pertinent lab experience in the work function, with periodic or temporary experiences leading the team. One year of experience in a molecular genetics clinical laboratory.
  3. Management experience is preferred.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing, statistical analysis, and laboratory information systems.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.
  7. Strong analytical skills.
  8. A positive attitude and the ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., reports, materials). Frequent use of a computer and office equipment. Possible exposure to lab environments, requiring minimal PPE use. Ability to work full-time with occasional extended hours based on operational needs.
