The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $47,900 - $62,300 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job Description

We're looking for a Leave & Benefits Specialist to join our Total Rewards team. In this role, you'll provide hands-on support for employee leave programs, wellbeing initiatives, and general benefits administration. You'll ensure data accuracy, process consistency, and a great employee experience by managing requests, interpreting policies, and partnering with team members across HR and the business.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on details, enjoys problem-solving, and values making an impact through exceptional service and operational excellence.

This role is a hyflex work arrangement, approximately 1-day onsite per week in our Red Wing, MN headquarters office with remote work eligibility the remainder of the week.

What You'll Do:

Leave Administration

  • Manage employee leave requests, approvals, and updates in the leave management system.
  • Respond to employee and manager questions about leave policies, forms, and documentation.
  • Monitor leave reports and follow up on missing or incomplete paperwork.
  • Coordinate workplace injury reporting and communication between employees, managers, medical providers, and insurance carriers.
  • Review and process updates in UKG to ensure accurate pay and status changes for employees on leave.

Wellbeing Program Administration

  • Support the wellbeing platform by maintaining system updates, approving content, and coordinating promotional activities.
  • Post wellbeing events and webinars in company calendars and communications.
  • Audit wellbeing data, including eligibility for medical premium discounts.

Benefits Administration

  • Respond to basic benefits questions and support employee communication during open enrollment.
  • Participate in system testing and continuous improvement efforts for benefit programs.
Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree combined with at least 1-3 years relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with leave administration, HR operations, or benefits administration.
  • Ability to obtain facts that ensure that claims information is complete and accurate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly energized learner.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service and enhancing the overall employee experience.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and leave management systems (UKG, AbsenceSoft, or similar systems).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment and extensive computer work required.
