Nokia's Cloud and Network Services (CNS) business group is building out a suite of products and capabilities that drive our Autonomous Networks vision. We are creating a data fabric that brings together all the information that we gather from telecom networks with the goal of feeding intelligent decision making for autonomous operations. We are seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of Nokia's Converged Data Management Platform (CDMP) that unifies structured and unstructured data handling, proven scalable data processing capabilities, and integrates with analytics and AI pipelines to enable data-driven decision-making across Autonomous applications. This role is central to building modular, scalable, and cloud-native data services that support ingestion, processing, governance, and metadata management as part of the Autonomous Network Fabric (ANF), a set of SaaS as well as on-premises services operating at petabyte scale.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud-native CDMP architecture with AN Fabric and applications deployments across on-prem, SaaS, and hybrid cloud environments
  • Architect and implement modular data platform services for stream based and batch processing (e.g., ingestion, processing, cataloging, metadata) using Kubernetes operators
  • Support CI/CD pipelines using GitOps and ArgoCD.
  • Lead integration of CDMP services with data lakehouse, pub/sub services and APIs.
  • Lead integration of CDMP services with AIML services.
  • Ensure end-end platform security with TLS, RBAC, encryption-at-rest, and secure multi-tenancy.
  • Enable Data Studio capabilities for both internal developers, partners, and customers.
  • Integrate observability using OpenTelemetry, enabling SLO-driven auto-scaling and real-time telemetry
  • Collaborate with SRE teams to define and enforce SLA/SLO objectives, implement zero-downtime deployments, and support blue/green and canary rollouts
  • Participate in SAFe methodologies for planning, execution, and delivery of data management platform components and integrations, ensuring alignment with Program Increment objectives and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews and design discussions.

You Have:

  • 4-6 years of experience in data engineering, distributed systems, or cloud-native data platforms. Experience on a SaaS product and building products for on-prem delivery.
  • Deep expertise in data lakehouse tools (e.g., Iceberg) and cloud-native storage systems.
  • Deep understanding of cloud ecosystems (GCP, Azure, AWS) and CNCF technologies.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Neo4j or similar graph databases and Cypher query language.
  • Solid working knowledge of ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, RedShift etc. for analytical and operational querying.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
  • Understanding of data governance, schema evolution, version control, and secure data access models.
  • Experience with database replication, clustering, failover, backup/recovery processes, and high availability, and multi-tenancy configurations.
  • Solid knowledge of API design, versioning, and backward compatibility principles.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry etc.), GitOps (e.g. ArgoCD), and Kubernetes Operators/CrossPlane.
  • Deep understanding of observability frameworks, SRE principles, and SLA/SLO enforcement.
  • Hands-on experience in the use of AI coding assistants for code generation and increased productivity

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Telecom experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML Ops systems is a plus.
