For more information, visit our website at www.kearfott.com Position Description The Supplier Development Specialist will be a key contributor to the Materials Department by ensuring materials are available to support the production schedules for on-time deliveries of customer orders. They will lead the effort to resolve any material issues resulting from poor supplier performance by overseeing the flow of materials and components and by taking action to solve problems in effort that materials will be available to fulfill orders. Essential Functions * Growing professional relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. * Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods. * Working together with teammates to establish new suppliers and be the change agent to lead setting these new suppliers up and getting them qualified. * Collaborate with the Buyers and the Supply Chain to know problematic suppliers and / or products and work with teammates and suppliers to solve these problems. * Lead effort to get troublesome suppliers back to an acceptable level of performance. * Be the "Fixer" for the facility for poor or unacceptable supplier performance. * Collaborating with project management to prepare for project review meetings. Understand material needs related to the project review meetings. * Meeting and collaborating with management to assess reliability of suppliers and vendors, and to identify solutions for ongoing problems. * Following established guidelines, instructions, policies, and procedures. Education & Experience * Bachelor's Degree in related field strongly preferred - focus on Business, Engineering, or Industrial Science. * 4+ years of work experience in a similar role. * Proficient understanding of Materials, Supply Chain, and Procurement. * Excellent computer skills. * Strong ERP skills including MRP Execution, Planning, Scheduling Purchasing and Inventory Part Maintenance. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel. * Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. * Proficient people skills. * Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to comply with company policies and procedures. * Willingness to travel as needed This position is located 100% onsite at our Black Mountain NC facility.
