Job Details:

Essential Duties and Principal Responsibilities

* Review Fabrication Drawing for clarity of information before starting to weld fabrication.

* Set-up and finish weld Structural Steel Fabrications in accordance with the Fabrication Drawing and the requirements of AWS D1.1 of the Structural Welding Code.

* Check own work using various inspection tools.

* Set-up and operate various fabrication equipment, including but not limited to Drill Press and Saws to cut and drill material for fabrications.

* Operate a Lift Truck and Overhead Crane to move material.

* Visually check over the equipment you will use and that it is in safe operating condition.

* Assist in the training of Welders as instructed by the Director of Fabrication and Product Supply.

* Work with Quality Control to resolve and improve welding and finishing issues.

* Fills in and assists with whatever other duties, as called upon and/or as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements

* Qualified Welder per AWS D1.1 of the Structural Welding Code and 3+ years of applicable welding experience

* Must be able to read and understand Weld Symbols, Structural Fabrication Drawings, and Bills of Material

* Willingness work within deadlines.

* Ability to work within a team setting in achieving Company growth goals.

* Self-motivated; able to function with a high sense of urgency

* Committed to quality work with attention to detail

* Willingness to perform challenging as well as not-so challenging tasks

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure

manuals, blueprints, schematics, work orders, and quality documents.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
