About the role:
As an R&D Intern within the Systems Engineering team at Boston Scientific, you will play an integral role in developing life-changing medical technologies. You will collaborate across functions, contribute to hands-on problem-solving, and apply your engineering expertise to meaningful, patient-focused innovation. This internship offers exposure to a dynamic product development environment, and an opportunity to sharpen your technical, analytical, and leadership skills while driving impactful work.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This internship follows an onsite work mode requiring presence at our Valencia, CA office location 5 days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance may be available to those who meet the eligibility criteria.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Fully participate in and contribute to product development teams by supporting activities such as test fixture design, defining performance requirements, validating test methods, analyzing data, and presenting technical findings.
  • Plan and manage your own work independently to meet project timelines and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Design and coordinate hands-on engineering investigations and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot product or process issues related to design, materials, or manufacturing.
  • Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from experimental results and testing.
  • Prepare clear documentation and reports to communicate results within the technical community.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the product development process through the delivery of high-quality outputs and documentation.



Qualifications:

Required qualifications:



  • Rising senior (undergraduate or graduate) majoring in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with an anticipated graduation term between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
  • Able to start early to mid-June 2025 and commit to a 12-week, full-time internship
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities.

Maximum Salary: $73008

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com-will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
