LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, LOCAL HEALTH DIVISION, MADISON COUNTY Qualifications Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to two years of experience in one or a combination of the following: (1) emergency management preparedness, (2) administrative or managerial healthcare, or (3) public health planning or public health education work. Substitution of Experience for Education: Experience in one or a combination of the following: (1) emergency management preparedness, (2) administrative or managerial healthcare, or (3) public health planning or public health education work may be substituted for the required education, on a year for year basis to a maximum of four years (e.g., experience equivalent to one year of full-time work in one or a combination of the above-related fields may substitute for one year of the required education). Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Additional graduate course work from an accredited college or university in business or public administration; a health related field, including but not limited to, public health, health education, or healthcare administration; or an emergency management field, including but not limited to, emergency systems management, emergency administration and planning, or crisis and disaster management may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis, to a maximum of two years. Overview The Health Regional ERC 1 functions as a point of contact for all regional healthcare facilities for Emergency Preparedness and Response planning, training, and exercises. This classification ensures healthcare facilities meet requirements defined by federal and state guidelines. This classification develops, maintains, and facilitates healthcare coalitions for the purpose of planning for and responding to emergencies. This class differs from that of Health Regional Emergency Response Coordinator 2 in that an incumbent of the latter is responsible for the assessment of public health's capacity to respond to an emergency event, the development of county and regional emergency response plans, including the distribution of antibiotics or mass vaccination of the population during an event.
