The Fraud Prevention Consultant will work with contracted financial institutions to deliver a thorough review of their credit and debit card fraud prevention statistics, a comprehensive fraud rule summary, and provide intelligent recommendations for improvement. The consultant will also work with the fraud system administration department on advanced analytics of fraud trends, global rule writing, and assistance on support cases as needed.

This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Lenexa, KS; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO, Louisville, KY.

The salary range for this position is $73,000- $95,000 and will be determined based on location and experience level.

All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Configures Fraud Systems to meet the business needs for fraud detection, performance, support of needed features and data feeds.
  • Configures Fraud Systems to operate properly in the enterprise for scaling.
  • Orchestrates activities between Fraud Center and other support groups such as Software Engineering, QA, and Hosting operations.
  • Anticipate and raise project, business, and technical issues to the appropriate resources, log issues and actively participate in their resolution.
  • Provide system installations, configuration and onboarding for new customers and provide 24/7 on-call support.
  • Assess risk of ongoing or proposed operations and changes to operations.
  • Creates policies that provide guidance to the company, IT support, and vendors.
  • Creates and updates personal knowledge and skills for improved security, specific to fraud.
  • Collaborates with other areas of the company, as well as internal and external auditors to meet internal and external security requirements.
  • Tracks trends and data to identify fraud trends.
  • Proactively improves fraud detection processes and serves as subject matter expert.
  • Makes recommendations for future proactive change regarding fraud prevention.
  • Communicates with customers regarding trends in fraud.
  • May prepare documentation and training for employees.

What you'll need to have:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in credit / debit fraud prevention at a financial institution or credit processor.
  • Must have customer service skills, strong analytical skills and presentation skills.
  • This position will have an on-call rotation including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Associates degree.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization. Works on moderately complex and diverse projects. Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial industry and transaction processing including but not limited to credit or debit cards.
  • Strong knowledge of fraud detection trends, software and prevention guidelines.
  • Able to accurately set fraud detection rules and alerts.
  • Able to maintain a strong knowledge of fraud trends.
  • Able to define system and functional requirements.
  • Able to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
  • Able to work with confidential materials and information, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Office 365, and Tableau.
