Summary: Serves as an integral part of the Occupational Health and Safety team promoting a safe and healthful work environment free from recognized hazards that may cause serious injury, physical harm or death. Routinely inspects, evaluates and documents site conditions at MWRA facilities, including but not limited to, equipment, tools and machines, for compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and Massachusetts law requiring public sector entities to comply with OSHA standards. Responds to emergencies to mitigate danger and loss. Inspects and distributes equipment to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee works near moving mechanical parts is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet.
