What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced and dynamicSales Strategy Leadto oversee the growth and development of ourBanking and Lending businesswithin RBC US Wealth Management'sIndependent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channel. This role is critical to driving the adoption and expansion of our financial products and services among RIAs, helping them better serve their clients with innovative lending and banking solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both the RIA landscape and the financial products designed to meet the needs of investors and their advisors. This role will require strategic thinking, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve growth targets and deliver an exceptional client experience.

What will you do?

Sales Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Design and implement effective sales strategies to drive the adoption of banking and lending solutions in the RIA channel, particularly high-yield savings and securities based lending products.
  • Set and monitor sales performance targets, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and RIA client needs to continually evolve the sales approach and identify new opportunities.

Channel Partner Management:

  • Build and nurture relationships with key RIA firms, helping them understand the value and benefits of our banking and lending products.
  • Provide ongoing support to RIA partners, ensuring they have the resources, training, and tools to succeed in offering our products to their clients.
  • Work closely with the RIA sales teams and provide them with insights and guidance on how to best approach prospects and clients.

Product Development & Innovation:

  • Collaborate with the product and innovation teams to tailor banking and lending offerings to meet the specific needs of RIAs and their clients.
  • Provide feedback from the RIA channel to influence product roadmaps and ensure our solutions remain competitive and relevant.

Sales Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of banking and lending sales professionals focused on the RIA channel.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration between internal departments (sales, marketing, product, operations) to ensure the RIA strategy is successfully executed.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the knowledge and performance of the sales team.

Market Insights & Reporting:

  • Regularly track and report on the performance of the RIA channel, providing insights into sales trends, market penetration, and customer feedback.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to ensure the strategy is effective and adapt it as needed based on market changes.

Client-Centric Strategy:

  • Ensure the delivery of a seamless, high-quality experience for RIAs and their clients throughout the sales cycle.
  • Focus on long-term client retention and satisfaction through thoughtful, consultative sales methods and tailored solutions.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7+ years of experience in sales strategy, business development, or relationship management in the financial services industry, with a focus on banking, lending, or wealth management solutions.
  • Deep understanding of the independent RIA landscape and the specific needs of RIAs in terms of banking, lending, and financial services.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities are essential.
  • Experience leading and mentoring sales teams, with a track record of building high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred).

The expected salary range for this particular position is $110,000-$190,000, (New York City), $94,000-$164,000, (Chicago), $85,000-$150,000, (Minneapolis) depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
