Associate Librarian - Research Impact 43154BR Library Position Description The Research Impact Librarian is responsible for spearheading the development, advancement, and implementation of a dynamic array of services focused on scholarly output, research impact, and bibliometrics for the vibrant Texas Tech University community. This role involves close collaboration with university offices and the library to create and promote innovative services that amplify research impact. The incumbent provides tailored coaching and personalized support to Texas Tech University faculty and students throughout the research lifecycle, empowering them to achieve greater success. By working closely with faculty, the librarian enhances the visibility, influence, and triumph of their research through strategic publication approaches, utilization of cutting-edge research support systems, and insightful bibliometric analysis. The Research Impact Librarian plays a pivotal role in propelling the institution's research mission forward by equipping faculty with essential tools, skills, and knowledge to thrive in today's competitive research landscape. About the College Texas Tech University Libraries serve as a vital partner with students and faculty in their learning endeavors. The University Libraries' system comprises: (1) University Library, (2) Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, (3) Architecture Library, and (4) Peters Family Legacy Library within the Student Enrichment Center. The University Library is a patent and trademark depository and is one of two regional depositories for U.S. government documents in Texas. The central focus of the Texas Tech University Libraries is to make available 3.72 million physical volumes, electronic resources, special collections and archives, and to offer services to students and faculty that enable academic and research success. About the Department/School/Area The TTU Libraries Research Impact Team is dedicated to enhancing the university's research profile as it strives for AAU status by providing specialized services focused on scholarly identity, research profiles, citation management, and scholarly publishing. Drawing on best practices from the discipline, the team will offer guidance and support to faculty, researchers, and students to optimize their research impact. The team plans to engage with campus stakeholders through meetings to collaboratively develop and implement these services, maximizing research visibility. Major/Essential Functions The University Libraries at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track, Associate Librarian to begin March 1, 2026.
