JOB TITLE: UAV PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN I DEPARTMENT: UAV PRODUCTION REPORTS TO: UAV PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT STATUS: FULL-TIME JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, the UAV Production Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and assembly of all aircraft and related equipment. Integrate multiple payload configurations, perform modifications, and program aircraft systems and subsystems. Perform preventive maintenance, and repair of infrastructure equipment and associated electrical/ mechanical ground components. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Perform basic mechanical and/or electrical assembly, testing, and integration of electromechanical components and subassemblies based on provided blueprints and drawings.
- Use hand tools, adhesives, and fasteners to assemble UAV parts and subassemblies.
- Align, fit, and join component parts accurately, utilizing precision tools, calibrated hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and subsystems
- Unmanned aviation ground handling
- Perform maintenance, repair, and modifications of aircraft structures and components
- Assist with basic quality checks and inspections during the build process
- Follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain equipment used to support aircraft mission efforts
- Comply with production procedures and maintenance manual
- Report issues or discrepancies to the lead or supervisor promptly.
- Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required and 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to use fabrication machines including drill presses, band saws, upcut saws, press brakes, and metal cutting shears.
- Recurring FOD training and awareness, upon hire and annually
- Ability to read and follow instructions, drawings, and schematics.
- Willingness to learn and follow strict quality and safety standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and capability to perform routine and preventative maintenance for aircraft systems/subsystems, and ground support equipment.
- Composite, structural, and/or mechanical repair experience
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
- Familiar with military aviation operations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, more with assistance.
- Work environment consists of various office and manufacturing settings with may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals.
- Ability to traverse manufacturing facility.
