Snapshot of the Role

Our Designers are hands-on problem solvers who collaborate closely with Husco's Manufacturing team to bring innovative, customer driven equipment designs to life. In this role, you'll translate ideas into functional models, tackle complex design challenges, and help shape solutions that drive real impact. You'll thrive in this role if you are detail oriented, quick to pick up new techniques, and naturally collaborative. Our Designers combine a strong mechanical/technical foundation with the ability to shift gears quickly in a dynamic environment.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Create Complete and Accurate Prints and Solid Models: Responsible for the creation and improvement of component drawings and solid models. Work closely with the Manufacturing team to prepare conceptual sketches of new automation equipment from required specifications. Able to grasp new component design concepts, creating design layouts that determine the relationship between components, tolerances, allocation of space, and component geometry.
  • Design for Assembly and Manufacturability: Investigate design options to reduce cost, improve performance, and optimize manufacturability. Ensure design features, dimensions, tolerances, and allowances conform to functional and manufacturing requirements. Participate in machine assembly and set-up in accordance with produced drawings and documentation- involvement from design to production.
  • Design Change Requirements: Properly update and store prints in necessary locations with card toward ensuring revision control is maintained. Will be involved with redesign concepts to improve performance.
  • Scale Steep Learning Curve: Rapidly expand equipment and component knowledge. A wide variety of new machines and applications are developed within the Manufacturing department, requiring a successful Designer to grasp concepts and build a deep knowledge of component design requirements quickly.

What You'll Need:

  • Associate's Degree (or equivalent military or formal training) in Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience using CAD technology
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawing practices, ANSI standards, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
