About the Opportunity
DMI, LLC is seeking a Z/OS Programmer/Engineer to join us. As a member of a small z/OS Systems Support group this resource will provide z/OS software technical support in the areas of z/OS and ISV product installation and maintenance, TCP/IP network monitoring and configuration, including various IP applications (assorted Daemons), assist in the development and implementation of automation workflows using z/OSMF, JSON and other tools. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Technical Support
- Provide support to other technical groups within the organization as well as end-users when needed. These groups include but are not limited to DB2 DBA's, Production Control staff, Computer Operations staff, Storage and Networking as well as technical staff for other computing platforms (Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Cloud-based). This support may be in the form of direct technical assistance with software and/or hardware configuration and use, advanced problem determination and root cause analysis, and assistance in responding to audit and security configuration inquiries.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedure and Knowledge Base article documentation for internally customized procedures in support of the Mainframe environment. Development of required planning and coordination documentation for submission and presentation to internal technical review boards as required.
- Security and Compliance
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all infrastructure processes.
- Assist with audits and compliance requirements as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Years of Experience:
- 6 - 10+ years performing general z/OS systems programming tasks.
- Installation and Maintenance of z/OS operating system and 3rd party products.
- Hardware configuration using the HMC.
- Experience with utility programs and products including: ISPF, IDCAMS, CLISTS/REXX, SORT, TSO, JCL, Workload Manager (WLM), SMP/E, JCL and assorted system monitor tools.
- Experience with SYSPLEX environment changes, such as changes to CFRM, LOGR and WLM policies.
- Configuration of Unix System Services and the zfs file system structures.
- Experience coding in Rexx; TSO Clist (USS Shell and Windows PowerShell desired).
- Basic understanding of DB2 for z/OS.
- Experience with Java, JSON and XML desired.
- Comprehensive knowledge of z/Enterprise server technology, software technology, systems analysis, research techniques, systems development standards and quality and cost controls.
- Must be a flexible team player with strong inter-personal and communication skills.
- Experience with ServiceNow desired.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.
- Provide On-call after-hours support.
- You must be a US citizen or national.
