THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a highly organized and dedicated Administrative Officer to join our team. In this key role, you will serve as the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Coordinator, overseeing the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Muncy's compliance with federal PREA standards as well as DOC policies and procedures. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will ensure accurate reporting, tracking, information collection, and reporting notification in support of federal PREA standards and internal DOC PREA policies. You will provide administrative support and act as the primary point of contact for PREA-related matters within the institution, including assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual reports. Responsibilities include coordinating and scheduling service provider access for inmates and the facility, as well as ensuring proper documentation of interactions with victim advocates. You will serve as a liaison with the security office, medical and mental health departments, unit teams, and other facility staff to obtain and share required documentation. In addition, you will coordinate PREA training by scheduling sessions, preparing training materials, assisting with training delivery, and ensuring all training records are accurately compiled, distributed, and maintained.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
