The Respiratory Therapy Manager for the NICU oversees neonatal respiratory care services within the inpatient setting. This role ensures high-quality patient care for critically ill neonates, regulatory compliance, and staff development specific to neonatal intensive care.
Essential Functions -Leads a team of neonatal respiratory therapists, providing guidance, mentorship, and supervision- including recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance to ensure optimal patient care. -Oversees the day-to-day operations of the respiratory therapy department- including establishing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures. -Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care plans. -Manages respiratory therapy equipment, supplies and inventory within the department. -Promotes professional development among respiratory therapy staff by organizing and facilitating educational programs, workshops, and training sessions. -Assesses and evaluates the performance of the respiratory therapy department, monitoring key performance indicators. -Works closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with standards and regulations related to respiratory therapy services and point of care testing for Blood Gas Analysis. -Performs other duties as assigned. Education Registered Respiratory Therapist [RRT] - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred Respiratory Therapist [Massachusetts] Required Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care preferred Respiratory Care Practitioner [State License] Required Experience in a supervisory or management role 1-2 years required NICU experience 2-3 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Physical Requirements The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
