Description

This is a benefited, full time position (64 hours every 2 weeks) generally working weekdays from 8am-5pm. The specific day off will vary week to week, but likely alternate Mondays and Wednesdays. No weekends or extended hours, but occasional, optional Saturday clinics. Shift hours may vary based on need. Located at Scripps Clinic Encinitas but may float to other sites as needed.

What you'll do:

  • Rooming patients
  • Checking vitals
  • Assisting with procedures
  • Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
  • Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Organizes and performs patient care services that support the provider's practice
  • Relaying instructions from the provider to the patient or authorized person
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
  • Administering medications specifically directed by the provider
  • Scheduling of appointments and procedures
  • Complete and accurate message taking
  • Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
  • Order and referral entry
  • Acquisition of pre-certifications
  • Setting up of cases in EPIC
  • Basic registration and updating of demographics
  • Other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

Required Certification/Registration:

  • BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
