Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

(Remote)

Role Summary
This is a senior-level, hybrid application development + data engineering role focused on building scalable, data-driven applications. The position blends software architecture, data pipelines, and cloud deployment, with strong collaboration across globally distributed teams.

It is a remote, EST-aligned, contract-to-hire role with three total resources required across two start dates.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data-driven applications.
• Combine data processing, transformation, and business logic into cohesive solutions.
• Enforce software architecture and data engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with:
  • Application developers.
  • Architects.
  • Business and technical stakeholders.
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines integrated into applications.
• Support:
  • Cloud deployment.
  • Monitoring.
  • Operational stability.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions spanning application and data platforms.
• Stay current on emerging technologies in software and data engineering.

• 5+ years professional experience in:
  • Software development and/or
  • Data engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Python
  • Scala
  • SQL
  • C#
• Solid understanding of:
  • Data engineering principles.
  • Software architecture patterns.
  • Microservices and APIs.
  • Integration patterns.
• Experience working with:
  • SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Efficient data modeling and transformation.
• Proven participation in:
  • Architecture and design discussions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently in an agile, fast-paced environment.

• Cloud platform experience:
  • Azure
  • AWS
  • Google Cloud
• Containerization:
  • Docker
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Databricks experience
• Mentorship or technical leadership experience.

• Level: Senior Individual Contributor.
• Primary Focus: Application-centric data engineering.
• Secondary Focus: Cloud deployment, architecture, and scalability.

• Must work EST / East Coast US time zone.

• Required with Central Europe and India teams (morning EST overlap).
