RN Registered Nurse - Elective Surgery - 36 Hours Weekly - Night Shift

REGISTERED NURSE - ELECTIVE SURGERY - 36 HOURS WEEKLY - NIGHT SHIFT

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Sign-on bonus: Up to $10,000.00

Schedule: Nights, Three 12 hour shifts weekly from 7PM - 7:30AM. Rotating every other weekend and holiday.

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 5 East Elective Surgery unit is a 20-bed unit specializing in post operative care. Our patient population typically consists of colon, urology, and gastro masses, cancer diagnoses, and some trauma patient overflow. Our typical nurse to patient ratio is approximately 5:1. We encourage continuing education and voluntary participation in unit committees, and are willing to train nurses of all levels of experience to be successful in this environment. • Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
