Director of Rehab Services

Salary Range: $65.31 - $104.50 per hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Plans, organizes and directs CMH Ventura & CMH Ojai Rehabilitation Services: Physical and Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Pathology. This includes long term planning and supervision. This can include, but is not limited to establishment of budgets, prepares and maintains departmental records, long term planning, staffing levels, and directs Performance Improvement.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates and evaluates activities to ensure balanced and adequate program, and to formulate progressive program designed to meet changing needs of community and the Health System.
2. Promotes and develops strategic relationships with physicians, facilitates good working relationships between physicians and staff.
3. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and accrediting and licensing agency standards and regulations.
4. Design, facilitates and/or implements performance improvement projects to improve patient care process and systems at CMH Ventura and CMH Ojai Rehabilitation departments.

5. Directs collection, analysis, and interpretation of statistics significant to program planning and budget preparation.
6. Prepares and submits budget estimates for Rehab therapies.
7. Participates in established programs for guidance and professional development of licensed and unlicensed staff, and in establishing personnel policies, qualifications, and salaries.
8. Recruits, selects, and assigns personnel.
9. Responds to customer (patient and physician) concerns in a responsive, timely, and respectful manner.

10. Medication Management: Responsible to maintain departmental participation in hospital-wide Medication Management per policy. Responsible to maintain participation in departmental policies of Topical Medications and their use in physical therapy treatments.
11. Responsible to insure scheduling of education and in-service programs.
12. Maintains departmental safety procedures and policies.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Director is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all Rehabilitation therapy departments at CMH Ventura and CMH Ojai. The Director carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Health System's policies and applicable laws. The responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Director of Rehabilitation Services has a primary office at CMH Ventura however 25% of time is allocated to CMH Ojai oversight with a minimum of four (4) hours of monthly on-site commitment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Masters Degree in Speech Language-Pathology
• Current California Physical Therapy license, Occupational Therapy License or Speech Language-Pathology License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Ten (10) years of clinical experience in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language-Pathology in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Eight (8) years of progressive management experience, both in the acute hospital and clinical outpatient settings

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
