** THIS IS A TEMPORARY FULL-TIME SUMMER DAY CAMP POSITION*** Location:570 152nd St., South Sioux City, NE 68776.** May 27th, 2026 through July 24th, 2026 Pay Rate: $70.00 Per Day MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. SUMMARY: Lifeguards assist the Head Lifeguard in maintaining strict safety rules and procedures at the pool and waterfront, while at the same time creating an atmosphere of fun for the swimmers and boaters. Properly maintain the pool and waterfront areas as directed by the Head Lifeguard. Specific Duties-Lifeguard:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. They will assist in creating a Christian atmosphere and support the infusion of Christian Outreach through the programming. Preferred 6 months related experience in a personal relationship with Christ and working with youth. This individual must be of good character, mature and able to uphold the Christian standards and ministries of The Salvation Army in all areas of job responsibilities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: No Education or Experience needed. Will provide on the job training. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass by May 28, 2020. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass all applicable background checks. English proficiency sufficient for communication with supervisors, co-workers, clients and customers. Must be at least 16 years of age (BFOQ). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors due to each swimmer receiving a colored wristband to signify which area of the pool they are allowed to be in. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
