About us

One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we're on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We're looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do

Snappi operates the "CDN That Learns"-an intelligent content delivery network that continuously optimizes ecommerce web performance. We're a Viasat subsidiary combining startup agility with enterprise stability: fast-moving culture with high impact work, backed by the comprehensive benefits and resources of an established public company.

The day-to-day

You will build and operate our intelligent CDN platform serving global traffic. You'll work on core infrastructure and emerging AI-powered operations, gaining deep expertise in web performance optimization, browser technologies (resource hints, compression dictionaries), and emerging standards.

Job duties include:

  • Design, develop, and deploy cloud and edge network infrastructure software
  • Build observability and monitoring systems for CDN performance
  • Develop ML algorithms that optimize routing and caching decisions
  • Leverage AI coding agents and tools to accelerate development
  • Work on self-healing systems with automated issue detection and resolution

Additional Information:

  • This position is located onsite. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

What you'll need

  • Education: Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. We especially value candidates with interdisciplinary coursework or interests-whether that's a BA in CS or a BS student who explored philosophy, literature, design, or other fields alongside their technical studies
  • Citizenship: US Citizenship required
  • Experience: This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience
  • Foundation: Strong problem-solving skills, continuous learner, collaborative team player, able to articulate technical ideas and think through problems out loud
  • Mindset: Self-directed and leans into ambiguity rather than away from it. In a fast-moving field, curiosity beats credentials.

What will help you on the job

  • Technical Skills: Solid fundamentals in: Python, Go, Rust, Java, or C/C++, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, networking concepts (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP), web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React)
  • Personal/academic projects related to web, networking, AI/ML, or automation (optional)
  • Links to GitHub, portfolio, or other work samples you're proud of (optional but encouraged)

Salary range

$83,500.00 - $132,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $104,000.00- $156,000.00/ annually
