As a Security Officer - Office Tower Patrol in Summit, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with tenants, visitors, and site contacts, and respond to requests with a customer-first mindset. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, tenants, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout building common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and controlled doors, verifying authorization and assisting with visitor management procedures as required by site policy.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, security-related hazards, and/or property conditions, escalating concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision per protocol.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, fire alarm activations, and/or other site emergencies.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, patrol documentation, and/or other required paperwork using approved Allied Universal reporting methods.
  • Communicate clearly with site management, local emergency services when directed, and other personnel, providing timely updates during routine operations and incident response.
  • Support building operations by providing directions, assisting with lost and found procedures, and helping to maintain an orderly environment consistent with site expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
