Security Guard - Unarmed Patrol - Full Time

As a Security Officer Retail Unarmed Rover in Gilroy, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will patrol sales floors, entrances, and parking areas, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support store teams and guests through customer service, reporting, and incident documentation. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, associates, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, suspicious activity, medical events, and alarms.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout sales floors, entrances and exits, stockroom areas as assigned, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor ingress and egress, observe for loitering and disorderly conduct, and assist with crowd management during peak shopping periods.
• Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
• Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining visible presence, observing for theft-related behaviors, and promptly reporting concerns to authorized personnel.
• Assist with access control by verifying deliveries, directing drivers to designated areas, and checking restricted areas according to site procedures.
• Operate security-related equipment as assigned, such as radios, phones, and CCTV systems, and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
• Provide directions and general assistance to guests, including escorting individuals as needed and helping to de-escalate customer service issues.
• Follow post orders for emergency situations, including fire, severe weather, and evacuation, and coordinate with local responders when requested.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience - preferred.
• Guard Card/License - preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
