As a Security Officer - University Patrol Driver in Redwood City, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. You will conduct routine patrols across assigned areas, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer-focused service. You will document activity, support campus staff and visitors, and contribute to a caring culture that is agile, reliable, innovative, team-driven, and grounded in integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate campus resources and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by observing activity, verifying identification when required, and/or guiding visitors to appropriate check-in locations.
  • Perform security-related rounds to look for suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, and/or unusual conditions, then document and report observations per site procedure.
  • Assist with crowd and/or traffic direction during campus events, peak class transitions, and special activities, coordinating with site leadership as needed.
  • Complete detailed, timely incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation using written reports and/or electronic reporting systems.
  • Support emergency and non-emergency calls for service such as escorts, lost and found intakes, welfare checks, and/or facility-related notifications, in accordance with site-specific instructions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Have at least 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • - A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • - A guard card/license is preferred.
  • - Customer service experience is preferred.
  • - CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
