What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Control access by monitoring entrances, issuing visitor credentials, and directing foot traffic per facility guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, disruptive behavior, and facility alerts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout patient care areas, lobbies, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as cameras, alarm panels, and access control systems, and report irregularities according to post orders.
  • Complete shift logs and incident reports with clear, factual details, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Support de-escalation efforts by using customer service skills, verbal intervention, and policy-based direction while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Assist with securing restricted areas, protecting sensitive spaces, and supporting controlled movement of equipment and/or materials as directed by site policy.
  • Coordinate with local responders and/or facility teams during emergencies, providing directions, access support, and scene control as needed.
  • Follow confidentiality expectations and professional conduct standards when interacting with patient information and/or clinical operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
