Job Description




As a Security Officer - Government Facility Patrol Weekdays in Winston Salem, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to concerns with calm, professional customer service. You will be supported by a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, with a caring culture that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of government facilities, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials as required, and directing the public to appropriate locations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other monitoring systems, reporting unusual activity and/or hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying supervision and/or public agency partners when needed.
  • Complete accurate security-related reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs, including observations from patrols and interactions with the public.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies such as medical situations, fire alarms, and/or severe weather by following site instructions and supporting responding personnel.
  • Observe and report maintenance issues, damaged property, unlocked doors, and/or suspicious conditions discovered during patrols to the appropriate contacts.
  • Enforce site rules related to parking, loitering, and/or restricted areas in a courteous, professional manner while supporting a positive public environment.
  • Communicate clearly via radio, phone, and/or in person with site staff, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership to coordinate response and routine operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
