Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a government location, where you will help support a controlled entry experience through screening, access control, and visitor badging. You will monitor alarm panels, use a computer and/or tablet to document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and guests while remaining a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen individuals and belongings as required, including directing walk-through screening, operating screening equipment, and/or conducting hand screening in accordance with posted procedures and supervisor direction.
  • Verify identification, appointments, and/or access authorization prior to entry, and route visitors to the appropriate check-in or waiting areas.
  • Maintain orderly entry and exit flow, provide clear directions, and communicate screening requirements in a professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Observe for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access, prohibited items, and/or disruptive behavior, and promptly report concerns through the chain of command.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entrances, screening areas, adjacent corridors, and perimeter areas as assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Complete required documentation such as screening logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, using location-required systems and/or forms.
  • Support emergency procedures such as building evacuation, lockdown, and/or shelter-in-place actions as directed by location policy and supervisors.
  • Coordinate with location personnel and public responders to support security-related operations, access control changes, and/or incident response actions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using computer or tablet - preferred.
  • Have access control/badge experience - preferred.
  • Have alarm panel experience - preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
