As a Security Officer - Warehouse Access Control in Elmsford, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a high-activity logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue and track badges, and guide visitors and drivers to the right destinations. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document activity with clear communication. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach while supporting reliable, agile operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials when authorized, and directing visitors, vendors, and contractors to the proper check-in process.
  • Manage vehicle and driver access for a logistics and distribution location by checking incoming and outgoing trucks, confirming appointments and/or delivery documentation, and routing vehicles to approved staging and dock areas.
  • Maintain visitor, contractor, and vendor logs, including sign-in and sign-out activity, badge returns, and required documentation.
  • Monitor alarms, access control systems, and camera systems as assigned, and report unusual activity according to location procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services when directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including checking doors, gates, dock areas, and other controlled access points. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by helping to control access to restricted areas, maintaining orderly lines at check-in points, and communicating access issues to site representatives.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and access denials in a timely manner.
  • Assist with key, credential, and property control procedures as assigned, including issuing and collecting items per location policy.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to employees and visitors while maintaining professional demeanor and following location procedures.
  • Participate in required training, briefings, and post order updates to maintain knowledge of site-specific security-related responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Loss Prevention is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
