Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol - Full Time in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a leading tech location, you will conduct routine patrols and perimeter checks, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. You will communicate clearly with employees and visitors, document observations, and respond to requests with strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology campus and/or office environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, fire and/or alarm activations, and unauthorized access concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, labs, offices, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas during patrols, verifying credentials and directing visitors to the appropriate check-in process per site policies.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, suspicious behavior, and policy violations, documenting findings in daily activity reports and incident reports.
  • Use security-related systems such as access control, key and/or badge management processes, and radio communications to support site operations and incident response.
  • Perform interior and exterior checks for doors, gates, and other entry points, reporting maintenance concerns such as lighting outages, damaged hardware, and unsecured areas.
  • Provide escort services as required for visitors, deliveries, and/or contractors in restricted areas, following site-specific procedures.
  • Support emergency response by guiding occupants to assembly areas, assisting with perimeter control, and coordinating with local emergency responders as directed.
  • Maintain a professional presence and appearance while maintaining situational awareness during patrol activities and while interacting with the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
