Job Description




As a Security Guard - Part-Time Commercial Patrol in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms and/or tenant concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with onsite teams and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Perform access control duties by monitoring entrances, checking credentials as required, directing visitors to appropriate areas, and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or building systems as assigned, and report suspicious conditions, maintenance issues, and policy violations to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, trespassing, medical situations, and property damage, and request police, fire, and/or medical support when needed.
  • Complete detailed shift activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner, including observations from patrols and actions taken.
  • Support tenant and property management requests such as escorting individuals as approved, assisting with lost and found procedures, and providing directions within the property.
  • Assist with opening and/or closing procedures for common areas as directed, including checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas to confirm they are secured per site policy.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow post orders, and communicate clearly via radio, phone, and/or written reports with team members and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Being able to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
