Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hotel Patrol in New Orleans, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hotels & Resorts, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a hotel and resort location, you will conduct routine patrols of guest areas, entrances, parking, and back-of-house spaces, maintaining a high-visibility presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls, support guests and staff with clear communication, and document observations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a hotel and resort location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including guest disputes, medical calls, fire alarms, and other service-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including lobbies, hallways, amenities, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Control access to the property by monitoring entrances and restricted areas, verifying credentials as required, and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control when assigned, and report irregularities to site leadership and/or management.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and patrol activities, including documentation of lost and found items, policy violations, and guest assistance provided.
  • Assist with crowd management during peak occupancy times, events, and group arrivals by maintaining orderly flow and communicating with hotel staff.
  • Support hotel staff with trespass warnings and removal requests when directed by management and in accordance with site procedures and local requirements.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to guests, including wayfinding to rooms, amenities, and parking, while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Communicate clearly with Allied Universal leadership, site contacts, and local first responders when needed, using radios, phones, and written documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
