Job Description




As a Security Officer - Defense Entry Control in Mukilteo, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a leading aero and defense location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, support visitor processing, and monitor alarms and cameras to help reduce security-related incidents. You will complete routine patrols, document activity using a computer or tablet, and provide clear, respectful customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to all employees, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff access control points to screen authorized entry, verify credentials, and follow visitor management processes for a high-technology aerospace and defense location.
  • Monitor and control entry to restricted areas, directing individuals to the appropriate check-in locations and/or contacts when additional authorization is needed.
  • Operate and observe security-related systems and equipment as assigned, such as access control panels, cameras, alarms, radios, and communication tools.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, work areas, and the perimeter, documenting unusual conditions and reporting maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
  • Complete shift reports, access logs, incident documentation, and other required records in a clear and timely manner.
  • Support site-specific procedures for deliveries, contractor check-in, badging, and property movement as directed, reporting discrepancies for follow-up.
  • Work with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts to follow post orders, participate in briefings, and assist with drills and/or emergency response activities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • Being able to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
